What Is the Food Service Permit?

The Food Service Permit authorizes legal operation of a food establishment in Cobb County (including Marietta and the other Cobb cities, all served by Cobb & Douglas Public Health). It follows a passing pre-opening inspection against the 2025 Georgia Food Code.

All new applicants must complete a Verification of Residency / Public Benefits affidavit before a permit can be issued, and at least one Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) is required on staff.
