Denver is a home-rule city and requires its own sales/use tax license and filings, separate from the state.
What it is. The City of Denver sales/use tax license and separate return filing (Denver is home-rule and administers its own local tax; RTD/CD district taxes are collected by the state).
Who issues it. City and County of Denver — Treasury Division (City layer).
When you need it. Before selling taxable meals; in addition to the Colorado state sales tax license.
How to apply. Register with the City of Denver for the local sales/use tax license.
