Local Business Tax Receipt — Hillsborough County
Tampa restaurants need a Hillsborough County Business Tax Receipt in addition to the City of Tampa receipt.
What it is. The county Business Tax Receipt (BTR). Restaurants must present their state DBPR food service license and a satisfactory inspection report to obtain it.
Who issues it. Hillsborough County — Tax Collector (County layer).
When you need it. To operate; the BTR expires September 30 (renewable on/after July 1; delinquent Oct 1 with penalties up to 25%).
How to apply. Apply via the Tax Collector's BT Express system; provide the state DBPR license/inspection report.

Renewal. Annual (by Sep 30).
