Business License (Occupation Tax Certificate) — City of Marietta
Every business in Marietta city limits must hold a current City of Marietta business license (occupation tax certificate) before opening.
Overview
Every business operating within Marietta city limits must hold a current City business license from the Marietta Business License Division (205 Lawrence Street · 770-794-5520). Most restaurants file a General Business License application plus notarized affidavits (Affidavit Verifying Status and Private Employer Affidavit), a Home-Based Business Acknowledgement if applicable, and ID.
Fees are based on annual gross receipts or number of employees, whichever is greater. Food businesses must also show Cobb County Environmental Health (Cobb & Douglas) approval.
Renewal
Annual. Confirm the exact renewal deadline and late-fee terms on the Business License Division page.
